When you think about sweet treats, what comes to mind are these sinfully delicious cakes made with ingredients like cream, butter and sweet sauces, which are extremely hard to resist.

Thankfully, McFarland House got creative with its afternoon café offerings, rolling out a brand-new menu that caters to your increasing interest in healthier choices.  You can now savour vegan cakes as well as gluten-free and dairy-free options on its Café Menu from Mondays to Saturdays (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM).

Being laden with healthier choices does not mean that the menu is not indulgent.  Far from it, as you´ll be tucking into Vegan Waffles served with berries and coconut sherbet, Buckwheat & Quinoa Pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, or gluten-free Macaron Cake made with berries.

If you love chocolate, the Vegan Cherry Chocolate Almond Cake is a must-try.  Made with almond flour, dark chocolate, brown sugar and oil, the cake has less saturated fat and is deliciously topped with chocolate ganache.

Accompanying the sweets is an array of seven flavourful teas. Pick your choice from among classic black tea, loose leaf to Japanese Royal Genmaicha or a Chamomile Blossom infusion.  If you are not in the mood to drink tea, you may have a coffee or an iced-cold brew tonic.

By the time you leave, you will not feel too guilty as McFarland House has stepped in the right direction in its quest to produce a health-nourishing menu that looks good and tastes even better.
